Special Education Parent Advisory Committee

The Louisa Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (SEPAC) collaborates with special education and school administrators regarding special education services. SEPAC Membership is open to parents/guardians/family members of students with disabilities, people with disabilities, related community service providers, and other interested community members. School personnel serve as consultants to the SEPAC. SEPAC offers support and information for parents of students with disabilities. SEPAC meetings are open to the public.

What does the Special Education Parent Advisory Committee do?

  • Brainstorm with other members suggestions for how to meet needs in special education
  • Voice concerns of other parents and concerned community members about special education
  • Help develop plans for improving academic performance of students with disabilities
  • Provide feedback to school personnel on department goals
  • Submit reports and recommendations to the Superintendent and School Board

SEPAC meets regularly during the school year to discuss Louisa’s special education services.


How can you be involved?

The Louisa County Schools Special Education Advisory Committee (SEPAC) invites parents and other interested community members to apply for membership, and anyone is welcome to attend meetings. Representation from each school in the district is a priority.
