Doug Straley is the proud superintendent of Louisa County Public Schools and is now in his fourth year in the leadership role.
A lifelong native of Louisa County, Mr. Straley has served in a multitude of roles in his 25 years at LCPS. During his time as superintendent, Mr. Straley has created a concept called #TeamLCPS, where all students, staff, and community members play an integral role in the school division’s success. In recent years, Louisa County Public Schools has been recognized by the Virginia Department of Education for its overall innovation and implementation of The 5 C’s. In 2018, Mr. Straley received the “Most Spirited Superintendent Award” by the nationally recognized company Varsity Brands.
Mr. Straley lives in Louisa with his wife, Kate, who teaches at Louisa County Middle School. He has six children, all of whom have attended — or are currently attending — Louisa County Public Schools.
