LCPS Title IX Compliance & Procedures

Louisa County Public Schools (“LCPS”) is committed to providing an environment that emphasizes the dignity and value of every member of its community. Pursuant to 34 C.F.R. 106.8(b) and in compliance with Title IX and its implementing regulations, LCPS does not discriminate on the basis of sex in its education program or activity and this nondiscrimination commitment extends to both admission and employment.

LCPS’ Policy JFHA/GBA (Prohibition Against Harassment and Retaliation provides a comprehensive overview of how to file a complaint and set forth a grievance process that is in compliance with Title IX.  

The School Board designates a Compliance Officer responsible for identifying, preventing, and remedying discrimination as well as receiving complaints under this Policy. The name and contact information for the Compliance Officer is posted on the Division’s website at all times. The Compliance Officer:
- Receives reports or complaints of harassment;
- Conducts or oversees the investigation of any alleged harassment;
- Assesses the training needs of the school division in connection with this policy;
- Arranges necessary training to achieve compliance with this policy; and
- Ensures that any harassment investigation is conducted by an importation investigator who is trained in the requirements of equal employment/education opportunity and has the authority to protect the alleged victim and others during the investigation.
