An LCPS seminar featuring Dr. Dewey Cornell has been postponed due to a high probability of adverse weather conditions throughout Virginia on Friday.

LCPS is partnering with Dr. Cornell to present a School-Based Threat Assessment Training seminar. The event was originally scheduled for Friday, September 14th at 8:30 a.m. The event is now scheduled for Friday, October 12th at 8:30 a.m.

The Virginia Student Threat Assessment Guidelines is an evidence-based model for schools to use in conducting threat assessments of students. This model was developed by Dr. Cornell and his colleagues at the University of Virginia in 2001.

Dr. Cornell is the director of the Virginia Youth Violence Project, a research group composed of faculty and graduate students in the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia.
