Louisa County Public Schools hosted the Louisa County School Board and the Louisa County Board of Supervisors for a tour of several of their campuses on Thursday, February 1st.

Members began their day at Trevilians Elementary School.

While there, board members were able to get a first-hand look at the school’s STEAM Lab, 1:1 Device Program, Reading Interventionists program, Flexible Seating Classrooms, Town Center, and other highlights.

Members were then given a tour of Moss-Nuckols Elementary School’s autism and world languages program.

The tour ended with an in-depth look at Louisa County High School’s comprehensive CTE program.

The tour serves as a chance for members of both boards to see the success of LCPS programs in action!

“We take a lot of pride in the quality of the programs we offer to students of all ages at Louisa County Public Schools,” superintendent Doug Straley said afterwards. “It’s an honor to have the Louisa County School Board and the Louisa County Board of Supervisors join us in our schools for the day, because it allows them to see all the moving parts. They’re able to see the results of their policies and their support. These tours are a great way for us to not only show them our amazing students, staff, and programs, but also to say thank you to them for being a part of making it happen. We are TeamLCPS.”

“I saw sincere people putting in the work it takes to make these programs successful,” said Louisa County Board of Supervisors member Willie Gentry.

The tour ended with a meal prepared by students in LCHS CTE’s Culinary Program.
